![]() ![]() Even though you spend years doing nothing but establishing your nation before going on a military campaign - your sympathy with the world will always drop because of these ridiculous transactions. Why must htere be a half-dozen offers of food-for-gold deals a turn - especially when food is the most abundant resource! Its mind-boggling, and frustrating at the same time. Furthermore, there are negative consequnces to rejecting the barrage of AI-intiated trades. I have still yet to achieve a successfull commercial treaty with anyone. Negotiations are clearly a one way street, with the player on the wrong end of it. There is a fantastic amount of options, but they are not functioning as tehy should. ![]() However, one of the most important apsects of that is the diplomacy, which clearly does not work as intended. The strongest part of this game is the Strategic Map. Unlike RTW, all of it's features actually work-so you're not paying for an incomplete product. Originally posted by Gelatinous 25 2005, 04:26 AM Pyro is working on a patch already, apparently. No game-breakers, but they can be annoying. It'd be a shame to see this franchise die an early death because of Fanboys who see this as some kind of attack on their territory.Ī quick warning though, to anyone who buys the game-there are some bugs. It's the exact thing a TW Fan should go and pick up, or any strategy fan. Personally I don't understand why I should have to defend the game. ![]() A bit dissapointing, but someone will likely mod those in-as well as blood, for us americans. Alas, there are no drummers or pipers or such. And the ship battles are god awful, but will hopefully be fixed up in a patch some day. As noted above, the battles truly are a touch below RTW, in that they lack a certain amount of historical accuracy, and they are fairly fast-paced. They didnt include officers in the battles, but officers play a major role in organizing your army.Īdmittedly, the battles lack a sense of immersion. For some reason us poor americans got jipped on the blood factor. Oh, that reminds me, Cube, are there officers with the units, like in RTW? Color sergeants? Drummers? Pipers? Also, I noticed in some screen shots that there was some blood splatter, are the wound skins as well? Destructable buildings? Buildings are destructable, and if you're in any country besides the US, you'll see blood. Looking forward to tomorrow, and some good Napoleonic mayem!!! If I feel I've been jiped in any way I'll trash it. Take into account that I'm a very harsh critic when it comes to games. For me, next to playability the most important factor for a game is its style, ie, does it FEEL like the era it's meant to portray? I'm a big Sharpe fan, so I've been looking for a good game set during the age of musket.įolks, after I fire it up tomorrow I'll post my review. Well Cube, you fought the good fight, and even though you seem to be the only one defending the game I'm going to pick it up tomorrowįrom checking the website and reading reviews, I get a feel of a strong immersion factor. ![]()
